You would be amazed at the amount of money you can save by simply taking the time to check what competitors are doing this for. It really doesn't take long, but you can make significant savings by simply doing this.
Many of the cell phone carriers operate across many international boundaries and you would think because of this by simply purchasing a prepaid cell phone in the United Kingdom that it would also work in France. Unfortunately this is not the case even if you are on the same cell phone carriers network they will charge you international costs per phone call that you make or receive.
Although already past few months to prices of these calls is now being regulated in the European Union you will still be charged a much higher rate than you want when making local phone calls in the same country. I have always wondered this is a little bit of a scam as the networks seem to over charge for these services and the fact that you could use your
cell phone in the United Kingdom and then go to France on the same network you'll be charged and extortionate rate for each phone call.This is the same across all international countries and their unfortunately is no one present offering any international phone plans for a prepaid phone. Maybe it's something that we will see introduced in the near future but at present this is not available.
One solution around this could be to simply purchase a SIM free phone and when you reach your destination country simply buy a prepaid SIM card that will fit in the phone. This way all your local calls will be charged at a local rate but unfortunately he will need to change your phone number for every single country that you visit.
