Cell Phone Scanner Frequencies

A cell phone that comes with Bluetooth has great advantages if you wish to transfer photographs to a printer, most printers nowadays comes with Bluetooth built-in and being able to print photographs directly from your phone is but a timesaver and a great advantage to this new technology.

If you're looking to monitor cell phone frequencies the first thing you need to know that's listening to any wireless phone conversations is now illegal. Back in the late 90s new laws were made to prevent manufacturers from making scanners that can scan cell phone frequencies.

If you happen to have and old analog scanner cell phone calls are made on the 869.040 to 893.970 MHz range. one of the major issues with trying to listen to other people's conversations is that most networks do not use these analog frequencies at me more and have now switched to digital networks.  Unfortunately you are not able to purchase and the over the counter radios that can now listen to digital frequencies.

Most cell phone networks now use the standard GSm 2.5 and some are switching to GSM 3 (3G)

while researching this article I came across a number of websites that have projects in progress to build a GSM receiver again in some countries this may be illegal a quick search on the Internet and you will be able to find project websites with full details of how to do this.  As I said there are currently no products on sale that enables you to monitor the GSM networks and most manufacturers stopped making analog receivers back in the 90s.
